6.5x284 Norma from 284 win brass

Looking to make some 6.5x284 brass from 284 win brass for hunting loads will use Lapua brass for target loads.
Question is do I need to ream the brass if forming 6.5x284 from 284? just an attempt to keep the brass separated. I have a no turn .299 neck Norma chamber.

thanks

J.W.

Why don't you just use Lapua brass for everything?

I would think the simplicity would be worth the extra cost. You can use the same neck bushing since all brass will be the same neck thickness. Also, apparently if you want to use Lapua brass for target shooting then you must think it offers some advantage over Winchester brass in the accuracy department. Well, which one would you rather miss, a target or an animal?

Just my $0.02

X3Mhunter point well taken but the target brass will be only neck sized
And the hunting brass will be neck and full length sized. this is also a test how well the target prepped ammo will shoot compared to the non neck sized non match bullets (probably better than i can shoot) but want to test it any way. so this brass will be tumbled and prepped at the same time. also due to the excitement ;D some times I loose brass in the field.

I guess that this is more common than I thought to full length size match brass I have Redding "S" full length dies so I can do both. Still want to know if I need to ream the win brass?

They will load .296" +/- a lil" ...should work great with your chamber ....load one and measure for yourself ,before you neck down hundreds,,,let us know what you find...Roger
