6.5x270 Stengall/AI load data help

I have a friend who owns one of these and is looking for load data for it. I don't think he has any preference on bullet weight, I think he's just looking for any bullet/charge/powder combination. The only other info I have on it is a 40 degree shoulder.

Does your friend know how to make the cases properly to fit the chamber?

Has he cast the chamber to make sure this is exactly what he has?

If he doesn't have this information first, how will he know which load to choose?

From another source:

You will have to make your own brass by running .270 Win cases in the 6.5x270 sizing die you have.

It is such a simple small change (.013") in neck diameter it will be no different then re-sizing .270 brass to .270.

Keith Stegall was one of the most famous & highly regarded custom stock makers of his time.
But you probably already know way more about him then I do.

Here is a fine tribute to him.

If he has some Fire formed brass, some one here could find some information with Quick load for him.
they will need to know
1. how much case Capacity there is in Water volume to mouth of the case.
2. Parent case
3. Bullet make, weight, and model
4. OAL of specific bullet seated in the case.
5. barrel Length

Kruz, Thankyou for the article on Keith Stegall, it really takes me back. My great uncles were custom gun makers in Montrose Co and they were good friends of Keith's. Back in the day when sporterizing military rifles was popular there was plenty of work for gunsmiths doing that type of work. My uncles were also fans of Ackley cartridges and I was fortunate to have inherited several examples of their work. To this day I love the older classic bolt action rifles, blued steel and wood. My personal favorite and my go to hunting rifle is a FN action 7-06 AI.
