6.5x 47L and N-550

Well fire forming brass today and 39.5gr of n550 got me to 2790fps with 140s and 26" barrel. No pressure went up to 40.6 gr still no pressure at 2840fps. Node at 39.5gr.

I find N550 is vit's version of Rl17. Probably more stable then rl17. Interesting to see that 555 is very cool burning.

I also was pleased with N550 in a 6 dasher as long ago as 12 years ago. I only switched because the story was it was hard on barrels but it did perform for me.
35.2 grs. with 108's.

Those with Ears, let them hear!
yes it's a hot powder, I found that out quick, must take baby steps, better than staball 65 it got me quick without warning signs, I didn't blow nothing up and it was cold also I'm really glad it happened when it was cool, just super heavy bolt lift but I pulled bullets and took warm temp consideration into the charge, I shoot quit a bit in winter, so there u go

Gonna try N550 and 140 ELDM. My max oal is 2.817", but gonna use 2.811". 28" MRR Sabati barrel. Was thinking to start at 40 gn, then 40.5 and 41 (according to QL that shouldnt be in the red). Anyone tried this combo before?

N550 EATS barrels, you have been warned! TWICE!
I use N-550 in my .308 WIN , 6.5X47 LAPUA and 6BR and have not found this to be the case. In regard to temp stability. NO powder is stable at all temperatures due to the many other variables besides ambient temp that can affect it. Do your load development in the temp range you will be shooting in for safety is my advice.
