6.5mm Creedmor Load Data

Hello guys in the process of building two rifles. One being a 6.5mm Creedmoor. What kinda of velocity can I expect form a 28" Krieger Barrel loaded with either 140 Berger VLD Hybrid's or 140 Grain AMAX's. What type of powder or amount ? From what I have heard people say the dream velocity is close to 2850 fps. Just looking for some information y'all might have ! Thanks !

With a 140 Amax, I get 2750 with a 26" barrel and 41 grains H4350.

Berger 140gr VLD 2834fps w/ 41.7grs RL 17. Shooting a 28" Kreiger 1/8 twist. 130VLD 2914fps 43.8 H4350.

Make sure to reduce loads by at least 10% to start with your rifle.

I get 2,775 with a 140Amax and 41.5gr H4350 out of a 26" Salvage barrel. I could push the load faster, but it is very precise as is and gets out to 1,000 yds just fine.

Thanks for the info so far! Can you guys load these in mags with these loads or do you have to single feed them? I know it can get very close with the 140vld's.

My load fits fine in magazines, both AICS and standard blind magazines. I load my AMAXes to the same OAL as the factory Hornady ammo. The suggested load on the box is a winner.

Remember that the 6.5 Creedmor was designed with a case length slightly shorter than other members of .308 length cases to allow for that and/or give you a little leeway to chase the lands as the throat erodes.
