6.5 x 55 AI Modern Balistics.

it is fluted #2 in a HiTech hunting stock, 4.5x14 Luep - the stock is very light of early mfg, not sure they make it current production. I had Bobby Hart build it after I had heart surgery to get the weight down, vs my 280ai that was 9 lb

Bob what kind of accuracy have you been getting in that 7-08. Have you shot it out to 300yd or more yet, # 2 barrel is interesting because I was thinking of going to a #4 in 6.5 x 55 AI (hunting rig) and I'm only worried about the first two shots from a cold barrel.
Bobbie Hart does some pretty good work, he built my 280 AI barrel.

Have you by any chance thought that something seems to be going on between Lapua and Norma the last couple years and seems to be escalating ever so slightly as time progresses, I have reasons to believe this!

I may well have got 180-deg out of course - Winchester is maybe running at 100% capacity and can only meet new demand by contracting work out.

Norma has been steadily building up a worldwide business as a quality contractor for other people making brass with their headstamps. They seem to be willing to take on tasks that others won't - for instance Shiraz Baliolil's 6mm Dasher and 284 Win orders. They still produce things that few other do like 6.5 / 7.7mm Arisaka and 6.5mm Carcano cases. And they've been in the contract business a long time starting with Weatherby Magnum brass decades ago.

As a matter of interest on Norma's commitment to the 6.5X55, I had a look at the company's ammunition website pages earlier today and I think they make 10 loadings in total, but I may have double-counted one or two of the FMJ 'Jakmatch' practice grade stuff if they show it in both hunting and target sub-sections. They also appear to have reintroduced 6.5-284 ammo again.

Lapua and Norma were in the same corporate grouping at one time (Nammo), but they split up years ago. I don't know how much they cooperate - I'd be surprised if there is much of that for our sort of products and the military ammo business is cutthroat these days. So far as Lapua goes, they're growing on the back of new cartridges and bullets being introduced and I think they're marketing themselves harder and better. They've certainly put much more effort into North America in recent years and their sales must be increasing as much through 'word of mouth', literally in range clubhouses and also on figuratively on forums like this. Go back not that many years onto the old 6mmBR.com or Benchrest Central and whilst you'd see 100% agreement on using Lapua in a few numbers like the BRs and 220 Russian / PPC, you also saw a lot of posts that said words to the effect of 'don't waste your money on that expensive foreign stuff - it's not enough better than home produced brass to justify those prices'. You still see this occasionally, but occasional is what it is. The company has two 'superstar' products of course - 6.5X47 Lapua and 308 Win 'Palma' small primer brass. I wonder how many of these are manufactured and sold annually.

Changeling - I have shot it at 200-3 and it is very accurate, the 100 groups run under .400 the best being .325, granted I only shoot 3 shots at this is not a bench rig and I only want the deer or elk to hear it go off.

I have not run 5-10 shot stuff except in load development and there I found no problem with the bbl, heating up.as it is very free,

the 140s, sbt and nos bt both shoot into the same point of aim and run in the 3000-3100fps with a number of powders, with the h414 being my choice giving 3025 and very good groups, no magazine changes were necessary.

Whew Laurie, I was definitely worried that Winchester was having financial problems!

I know everyone says and I keep hearing that all these companies are doing so great but I have a hard time seeing it in my area. I don't even know anyone who has bought a new rifle/shotgun in the last year are so. I do know people who have bought new pistols/revolvers (including myself).
Every time I go to a shooting store are look at places on the Internet it's easy to see that powder, bullets, primers and brass are selling extremely well though, to well it seems, LOL.

I'm really hoping we can get rid of some of the "Bloat" and lunatics in our government in the coming election, the Democrats seem to be under a Witches Spell, to ruin our country. Hopefully the Republicans have delivered their messages to the public in the right manner to off set some of the harm that's been done to the US by the democratic party.
It is high time people stop and THINK about what they are doing in elections. They seem to think that voting for some of these people because they are actors, torch carriers, etc, can't really harm the country but lots here now are finding out the truth after 8 years of what the Democrats have done . I just hope and prey it's enough to regain Republican presence in our government !

Take care Laurie and thanks for all the information, I always relish hearing what you have to say.
