6.5 x 47

whats the speed on that? seems like a light load off the top of my head.

Dusty, I will have to find my records and let you know. It loves the 123 Scenars. I have shot match's (600 yards) and have done very well with this load. The combination of the Scenars and Varget cut the wind pretty good.

I have rifles that have 2 sweet spots, I chose to use the lower for longer barrel life.

Building a rifle in this caliber and was wondering where to start on load development. It will have a 30" barrel, 294 neck and .160 fb. I have 139, 140, 142 grain bullets, H4350 powder, lapua brass and br4 primers.

What would be the min and max load for these bullets and what speed should one expect to achieve.
My 6.5x47 likes 40 grns of H4350 ON A 140 GRN Berger vld Hunter, but it really likes the 139 Lapua scenars with the same load. But if you get a chance try some RL17 at the same volume, it will increase your speed by 50~75 FPS and is fairly temps friendly. And Also measure you lands and try seating the Bergers Touching lands.

Bulletbob,I had similar results with the same bullet trying 39.5,40.0,40.5,& 41.0 grs of H4350.The 40.0 gr
load was the best.I let the barrel seat 3 bullets to find my seating depth then just set my seater a tad deeper.I used Fed.205's & Rem. 7&1/2's & both shoot equally well .

2740 with the 140s in mine seems to be the sweet spot. 39.5 grains h-4350 in a 26" barrel.
Same load , same barrel, works for me. Let's face it 6.5x47 Lapua really likes Berger VLDs and a fairly stout charge of H4350.
