6.5 x 47 Verrrrry Interesting!

I have read, with great interest about this cartridge, and it looks like it might be the answer to many people's dreams about making a very accurate round out to 500 yards and beyond. Has anyone done any accuracy testing with this caliber? ANd do you feel that brass will be readily available to the average shooter - like myself. It appears that this just might be a terrific compliment to my 2 30 BRs. If components are going to be readily available to us, maybe I should contact Craig Kostyshyn to make up a 6.5 1-8 twist barrel for me? What do you think, Craig? I'm sure my wife will be thrilled to find out that I plan on building another custom rifle. Does anyone have reamers available for this caliber yet? Or is it just something that is still a pipe dream to us American shooters?

Jim, The 6.5x47 case is fairly straight with little taper and a 30 degree shoulder. How much capacity are you expecting to gain. Are you moving the shoulder forward to gain axtra powder space?

I just like to be different ;)

I like the 40° shoulders, but probably more for aesthetics than the technical aspects. It's for a "kind of tactical" rifle for use up to 500m. Already have a 6Dasher and 6.5-284 bench rifle for BR/f-class shooting and want something fun that is better than my 308 for the semi-serious shooting.
