6.5 WSSM- do you think it would work??

Just thinking out load.

Looking at the new .25 WSSM and thinking about what one would be like in 6.5mm.

There are enough .223 or .243 burnt out WSSM's out here or soon will be.
What do you think one built on a 6.5 cal wouuld be like??

See my reply on the other forum.

For those of you who aren't familiar with it, the 6.5 Fat Cat has already been used in competition at both 1000 yard BR and in F Class. Here it is along with a 20 Pup, one of the new trend toward 20 caliber Benchrest cartridges.

About what? You-Know-Who has used the Fat Cat right there in your home town, and the Pup is a real live cartridge that I got from a shooter at this year's Cactus. He didn't shoot it at the Cactus but had it chambered in a Rail Gun that he was testing on Wednesday, when you guys were all out drinking beer).

I've seen Boyds 6.5WSSM, but what is the 20 PUP based on?

It's pretty simple. It's a 22 PPC shortened and necked down. 1.3" case length. I suppose you could also call it a 20 Waldog. The other 20 caliber cartridges I have seen were all full length 220 Russian brass. I saw a couple of groups that were shot with the Pup,in a rail) and they were impressive.
