I'm running 3000-3050fps out of a 28" barrel and under 60kpsi with RL22 (standard 6.5x55 in norma brass). The case is rated for old mausers, there's no reason not to think that the swede can handle 30-06 60k psi levels. This has been shown many times with modern actions.savagedasher said:It will take about 67000 Psi to get 3000 fps. That is about 12000 psi over what the case is rated for. Larry
What he ask was with (140 gr) sst out of a ( 23 ''barrel). The 5'' extra barrel you have will give over 100' FPS more. I had a 6.5 WSSM with a 34'' that I run over 3200Fps and stayed under the case rating. The same load you shoot 3350 FPS will shoot 3080in a 23'' barrel. I am using a model 96 Swede Mauser 6.5X55 with a 29" barrel and a max charge of 45 grs Accurate 4350 in Remington cases with Federal 210M primer, COAL 3.050. With 120s and 46 grs I get 3000 fps. Both loads shoot 1/2 MOA on average also. If you want speed my 27 3/4" barrel 264 Win. mag will do 3350 fps with Retumbo and 130 Nosler Accubonds and is very accurate.
