6.5 PRC & 6.5 Creedmoor questions

I own a couple creedmoors and a couple 6.5 PRCs. I don’t know what the factory market is for ammo for either, haven’t played that game for awhile. If your just plinking and having fun the creedmoor makes a lot of sense, cheaper ammo and it’ll probably be easier to find.

If your hunting with it or shooting longer ranges I’d go with the 6.5 PRC. The recoil isn’t bad at all for one thing, when we are out shooting rocks in the bad lands and we’re shooting both cartridges the PRC is hitting noticeably harder, it’s easy to see the difference.

Just depends on your intended use and ammo budget really. Both are accurate and easy to shoot.
Just FWIW, I have a good friend who owns I don`t know how many rifles, shot and hunted with them for many years, and knows more than a little about rifles, bullets and shooting. Prefers the PRC for hunting, his experience was that it seemed to put an animal down with more authority.

Sako TRG 136 Scenar ammo shoots pretty good through both my Tikkas. Just shot my last three rounds of the box this morning.

I would have shot more rounds at the first target, but I had such a nice group going I didn’t want to risk it. :p
aint that the truth bout the only thing that will mess up a group like that is the shooter himself
I have done that so many times yo just loose count
nice group

That video also verifies that a .308 bullet is a better killer.
Not for me it didn't. The way I look at it is if you have AICS length short action mags, you can utilize the 6.5 PRC. Maybe that is so of factory ammo, such as Hornady, I don't know.

Both have the same shoulder angle.

6.5 PRC uses more powder in the case, at the expense of the mag.

Lots of short action pmags in the world that the 6.5 PRC presents no value for.

RE: .308 bullet is a better killer

For what? Everyone doesn't need more power, but I have both 308 and 6.5cm, and the 6.5 is a flatter trajectory. What does that mean? At the end of the day it gets down to what your intentions are for the cartridge and if it meets your needs. If I only had one rifle, I could be happy with either. I have more than one rifle though, so I like 'em both.:)
