6.5 Grendel

Hay, has anyone out there used the 6.5 Grendel on a AR platform, or a Thompson
Center Contender ( super 14 ). I put together both of these last year, and I'm looking
for loads for both. I'm trying to use the 123 gr. Scenar bullet in both to help keep down
cost. Thanks, R.Delung

I have a Nesika Pistol built by Gre Tan rifles. I shoot metallic silhouette with it. I shoot 140 gr bullets and 26gr of H4895 or 24gr of H322 both yield excellent results. Velocity from a 15inch
8 twist Krieger barrel is 2130FPs in Lapua Brass. Both mild and safe loads. But as always start low and work up. If you want more velocity I would try CFE223 or AA2520.

I shoot 28.5 grains IMR 8208 in a lapua case with 123 Nosler cc, Hornady Amax and Sierra matchkings... Very very accurate in both my ar15 and my boltgun. Matt

You will find all of your answers on the 6.5grendel forum. There are several guys who have done extensive testing with various powder/bullet combinations and posted their findings. It should be one of your first places to start.

Hey Matt how long is your barrel on your bolt gun.I shoot N-540 27Gr's and the 130gr vld Berger with a 271/2"

My boltgun is really short and fat... It was a 6.5 wsm br shot out take off. Its 22.5 total so around 21.0 of rifling. I am going to get a new one in the near future just because of velocity loss. The boltgun is 100 ft/sec slower than the same load in my 24" ar. I am looking at a 28" or maybe a 30" :). Then I will run the 130's. Matt
