6.5 Grendel Reloading HELP!

I have AA lapua brass, I tried 22.5 grains to 25 grains of winchester 748 in 5 grain increments, CCI BR4 primers, and topped it off with a 140 grain berger target VLD. It did not like these loads, AT ALL!! None patterned under an INCH!!!!! I don't know what powder to try next, or what powder and bullet combo to try next, there are so many combinations! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
try 120's. 140's are a bit heavy. That being said I bought a Grendel precision upper and I have never been able to get it consistently below .75 using 4 or 5 different powders and 4 different bullets. Power Pro Varmint and 8208 with 123 SMKs have given me the best results with Leverevolution powder being a close third

6.5 Grendel Forum has a excellent reloading sub forum. Guys there with some premium aftermarket barrels are post pics of consistent sub .5 groups

edit - earlier I had posted Power Pro 2000, checked my powder locker and it was Power Pro Varmint that I had played with. Apologies to all

I've done alright with 123's. Just alright, not outstanding. My best groups have come from Berger 85's over Varget and 8208. Those were one hole groups. The drawback of course is you don't get long range accuracy with them.

I've taken the 123 Lapuas and 130 GT's to 1400 yds and hit man-size silhouettes using the 8208.

Understand that you won't get the best velocity from 8208. I got that with AA2520. With AA2520, though, it's so temp sensitive, you have to have one load for winter and another for summer. Your winter load doesn't ignite fast enough and burns too far down the barrel. Leaving very high pressure at the port. That slams back through the gas system and slams your bolt to the rear while your case is still held in the chamber with high pressure. It looks like a hot load, but it's actually too cold.

Of note: the Grendel case is 20% more capacity than a .223. With the larger bore, it requires a slightly faster powder to get the load burned down to 10k psi by the time it hits the port. It really works best with full length rifle gas paths, if not the +2" gas system.

This cartridge would have generated a lot more interest early on had Bill gotten someone to chamber it in a bolt gun. He was adamant this was an AR round exclusively.

I have both 20/24” cut rifled Satern barrels and have had my best accuracy results with 123 Sierra BTHP, 27.2-27.4gr AR Comp and CCI 41’s in either Lapua/AA or Hornady brass-2500/2550fps and single digit SD’s. I’d play with OCW, consistent POI and seating depth, as in loading simply to ‘magazine length’, you’ll likely miss a key node and maximum accuracy potential. 8208 is another great option in the 120-123gr range, but a bit sensitive in narrow range near max. As noted, other powders will yield more velocity, but I’ve had very consistent results with AR Comp in both my Satern barrels, as well as Bartlein, Lilja, JP and Wilson Combat samples.

I've messed with power pro varmint and got spectacular speeds with 123gr bullets in my 24" Lilja. Never tried 2000MR in the grendel, but I have 4lbs of it I use for my heavys in 223. Good to see another powder I have on hand works with it. What kind of velocity you getting with the 2000MR ?
