6.5 Creedmoor Vs. 25 Creedmoor

Just hurts my heart to see such great calibers like the .250 Savage and the Bob get looked over. I would really love to see some manufactures offer some classic calibers in some fast twist options.

I have a soft spot for them too but they’re dead as a door nail in terms of factory support and that’s not going to change. Look at the 250 reamer print, they can put a fast twist on it but the throat geometry isn’t conducive to top accuracy with long high BC bullets so there’s minimal benefit to a faster twist. Everything works together and the 25 CM has connected all the dots to make a modern high performance 250 Savage

The trouble with fast twisting an old standard would be nothing but trouble, when someone tried to run the long heavies through their Rem 722 or Sav 99.
But those aren't made anymore so it's not an issue, and if you do own one you are more than likely smart enough to know what you have and know what their capability is. I'm talking a nice 700 BDL sleek and sexy with a walnut stock and blued finish. I'd be first in line.

And probably the only in line. lol Seriously Remington is not known for being smart with their twist rates. Look what they did with the .260 which helped the 6.5 Creed take off.

Just make one yourself if you wanted one that bad.

What is it with people, Hornady made a 25 Creedmoor, So What!
If you don't like or want it don't buy it.

Somebody made a 357 Sig, I thought interesting, but I didn't dump my 9's, my 38, my 45 ACP, my 44 mag nor my Makarov. Same for the 6MM ARC, I am fond of my AR 15, AERO Precision and the 6MM ARC cartridge, but I certainly kept my 6MM Remington.

Just another toy! ;) I also have a 16 pound 358 Norma Magnum and a 11 pound Mauser bolt action, 450 Marlin customized for 500 grain bullets. I ask no one to like them.

I already have, doesn't mean I wouldn't like to see more options on the shelf. Heaven forbid a little nostalgia I guess.

I have that same spot for my 257 Roberts. I first tried scratching it with a Kimber 84M Hunter but that was a POS for sure. After a couple of Trips back to them for reliability issues and out the door it went.
As you say, the 25 caliber bullets had to be seated very deep in that factory chamber but for two reasons. The throat could be fairly easily resolved but that would cause even more issues with trying to feed them through short actions. Most of the PRS guys I know of that shoot a 25 do it on the 6.5-47L(a few do the 25 Creedmoor). Those are both shorter than the Roberts case which is based on the 6MM Remington (7MM Mauser) I believe.
