6.5 creedmoor to 260 Rem

Wondering if anyone knows with any certainty if a 260 Remington reamer can be running into a 6.5 Creedmoor chamber with no issues or does the barrel Tenon need to be cut and then rechamber?

Looking for a definitive answer please

Thanks

As Kmart posted, too wide at the shoulder. CM is on the left. My calculations, .72 minimum to be removed, .75" to be safe.

260AI is the bomb. 28 Inc barrel will get awesome MV with 4350. 24-26Inch will get awesome MV with RL26. I call it the baby 6.5 SAUM. You can get better MV than the Gaymoor..... I mean creedmoor.......... With the same or slightly better case life. My 28 in bartlin gets 2850 fire forming loads. I shoot local matches with fire forming loads. 2950 and 147GR ELD-M gives some pretty good numbers.

I had a good friend and shooting buddy that went the AI route and he regretted it. The accuracy was in the high 2700 to low 2800 range and anything above it the accuracy sucked then he started getting pressure signs. Maybe just a bad barrel but he was really disappointed with it.....

I am leaning the other way. I have a 260 chambered Bartlein gathering dust and thinking of cutting off the tenon and going to 6.5 Creedmoor.

That's what I'm up to later today. Got a 6.5-06imp that is a barrel burning monster and is a great comp. gun for 1000yd BR. But VERY expensive to feed with 55g of powder and 800-1000rd barrels. I am chambering up a 6.5CM barrel to spin on the 2port Borden to play with in between. Still using Lapua brass, no FFing. All the load development you could ever ask for has been done and i have a whole bunch of Bob C.'s 141's to feed it.
Can i PLEASE still hang with the "cool guys".......I DO have a BRA...;)

Regards
Rick
