6.5 Creedmoor recipies?

I posted this somewhere else but I'll ask here. Why can't we use the 6XC brass and just neck it up to 6.5? The 6XC brass is 6 points harder than even the Lapua brass. The OAL of the case is only 20 thousands shorter. But I just don't know where the shoulder is on the Creedmoor comared to the 6XC. They look very close. And with superior brass it might be the way to go.

You can make them out of 6xc brass but the necks are a bit short and you have to use the bullet to keep the base of the case against the bolt during fireforming. I have only made ONE piece, so keep that in mind!

Finally fireformed some more brass...or at least attempted to. My first group of cases were Win brass, the next is lapua. My method descibed somewhere on this forum worked well with the winchester brass but the Lapua brass is a different story. The necks are too thick and will require turning in order to chamber. I assume the Lapua brass must have more material in the shoulder area of the .243 parent case than the win brass. Luckily Santa is buying me a Sinclair neck turning tool and a concentricity gauge soon.

RCW3 I like your version the 6.5mm Super x. That is what I was looking for in my post of 6.5 -08.
That looks like what the creedmoor should have been to me.

Emailed Hornady asking them about the brass..

they said "We are working on making the case head harder. To what extent I do not know. There could be a combination of issues here to include port pressure."

Whats that mean? Sorry, I'm kinda new to these AR rifles...

Did Hornady ever correct the soft brass problem? I havent had any issues with mine so they must have. I didnt know if anyone could confirm that hornady did in fact change there brass? Lee

Lee,
Yes they have. Any Creedmoor brass in the new boxes with the fancy label is the good stuff. I am not sure when the load ammo was switched though.
