6.5 creedmoor lapua brass

I am going to try some Nosler brass from Sinclair:

Nosler takes a few extra steps with their brass to make it a premium component for the handloader. The brass is first weigh-sorted to within + or - 0.5 grains, then the flash holes are deburred. Nosler completes the case prep with neck sizing and chamfering the inside and outside of the case mouth. All Nosler unprimed brass bears the Nosler headstamp. Sold in boxes of 50 unless stated otherwise.

They may be better than anything Lapua would come up with for the 6.5 Creedmoor.
Let me know how that Nosler brass works out for you. I can just about guarantee you it will vary way more than +or- 0.5 grains.

I think you may be right on the variation. This is what the advertise. I use a GemPro 250 that measures to 0.01grains. I will post my findings for 50 cases to verify the claim. However, correlating group size with case weight is up to the individual shooter (i.e. on a good day). I mark cases that produce "flyers", but don't throw them away as it's probably me and not the case.

If the Nosler brass is made by Norma (as some Nosler headstamped lines are) and if it's as well made as Norma headstamp 6.5 Creedmoor cases, it'll be among the most consistent brass you'll ever find. Taking a sample of 50 out of 200 I bought, I found it superb - better than any previous Norma I've weighed / measured, and better than most recent Lapua brass I've used.

What I've yet to find out is its durability.

Of the currently available 6.5 CM brass available I have used, Nosler, Hornady, and Winchester, the Nosler has been the most consistent and toughest. I did weigh 50 cases on a Lyman 2000 scale and it was in the +/- 0.5 grs range, most between +/- 0.3 grs. Then another box of 50 the first one I weighed was 0.7 grs lighter than the middle of the bell curve on the other box of 50. I load 100 rounds at a time and put a black sharpie line across the base of the ones I weighed, to keep the two 50 count boxes separate. Also the last 50 count box I bought for my Ruger American Predator hunting rifle had extremely tight primer pockets that I had to use the press loading system and a lot of effort to seat. I'm still looking forward to the Lapua brass when it becomes available.

Figured Id follow up on this since starting this thread awhile back! Heres 5 shots with lapua brass @ 100 yards. Imr 4451 and hornady eld-m. Single digit es/sd 2800fps. This brass is superior to hornady, very happy!
