IMHO this does not look to be within legal shooting hours.Imagine this was the very first or last bit of shooting light and time, and you had to choose which caliber would you shoot through the brush. It’s the last day of the season and you are feeling some pressure.

Makes you think about where the rifle’s zero is, and what distance. You wonder which branches are branches and which ones are leaf stems. You wonder if there might be a better shot, but know these deer are about to leave the property, and the adjacent owner is a real peckerhead about deer hunters even looking for wounded deer.
That 30 caliber wound channel would be my choice.
There should Be BOTH, a Thumb's Up and,.. a LOL, smiley GIF for, posts, like this !IMHO this does not look to be within legal shooting hours.
I can't believe anyone would REALLY need to prove this to themselves, but if one must, go place 3 targets behind this brush your convinced you can shoot through and give it a try. 5 shots per target. Post pics.First rule of hunting from my uncle when I was a kid was to only take a clear shot. I'm surprised this thread has gone on so long with a discussion about shooting through brush. It is always a bad idea IMHO.
That first word “imagine”… that was merely a descriptive scenario for an example. That was the only decent pic I had related to the OPs post concerning shooting through brush.IMHO this does not look to be within legal shooting hours.
Full sized archery targets thumbtacked to cardboard would be the best thing to use.I can't believe anyone would REALLY need to prove this to themselves, but if one must, go place 3 targets behind this brush your convinced you can shoot through and give it a try. 5 shots per target. Post pics.
I double-dog dare you.
lol, I was going to say this looks like a 22 rimfire shot from inside the truck. No, I don’t know from experience, just saying…. I’d never poach a buck for the rack and I don’t like venison enough to do it for the meat.IMHO this does not look to be within legal shooting hours.
And the saplings you 'shot through'. Saplings touching the target don't count.Full sized archery targets thumbtacked to cardboard would be the best thing to use.
ETA Whomever does it, make sure you post target pics.![]()
I have intentionally shot through leaves and twigs testing open tip expanding hunting bullets. Kinda like the FBI protocol only for hunting bullets. Not only was the gel hard to hit, but just like self defense bullets, there were a lot of plugged hollow points that failed to expand. And the saplings you 'shot through'. Saplings touching the target don't count.
