6.5 CM Starting point done - Now step 2

IMG_1861.JPG IMG_1872.JPG First of all thanks to all who chimed in to my "6,5 CM Starting Point" There was a lot of good information shared which got me off to a good start.
now for second step suggestions,
So I picked up rifle earlier in the week and took it to the range to zero and break in the barrel. I loaded 20 hand loads all seated 10 thousandths of the lands. All 143 g the ELD X over H 4350. The first 10 @ 40.6 grs the 2nd 10 41.1 gr. Fired most at a distance of 100 meters except for 1 group @ 200 meters. I also fired 2 HSM 140 gr games kings at 100m (30 bucks per box ) Not sure what MV was but my hand loads dropped half as much as the HSM GK's @ 200m. I might add the wind was terable so I am pleased with first outing after printing some .5 groups. No signs of pressure on brass. Thinking about bumping up powder charge. What do y'all think next move should be. Maybe I should stay where I am at for now on the powder and play with seating depth ?

you may want to start loading up in steps .2gn at a time and you will hit an accuracy node within 1 grain of where you are now.

depending on your OAL you may find that you will end up over book max before you see any pressure signs.

you may also do another batch at .020" off of lands. iirc my 6.5 liked .020" jump when using 147 eld-m bullets. my best group was with stiff load of h4831sc but didn't spend a lot of time with it, got side tracked with some 22cal varmint guns. H4350 did produce superior ES and SD# though

Yes a local friend of mine also suggested a .20 jump. I think I will load 20 at the same powder charge (41.1 H 4350)
10 @ .15 jump and 10 @ .20 jump and see what happens. They were a little long for the magazine @ 10 anyway.

Is this a hunting rifle? WD

Custom m700 with trued and blued action. It has a fresh 22 in Bart. barrel with vias MB.
It will be used for hunting (%20) and punching tiny holes in paper... I hope.(%80)

if you are looking for.a mag length seating depth then i would use the procedure in this.link. you might be supprised at the amount of jump your rifle likes. then you can fine tune your charge and tweak you seating depth. i would.just load 3 at each seating depth.
