I picked up this 6.5 Bullberry Improved barrel last year for the T/C Contender platform. Using a 120 grain Nosler BT, it wasn't hard to find a load that it liked. 2510 fps from a 15" barrel using RL15.
I was able to harvest two does last year at a distance of 90 and 135 yards.
This year a nice 10 point that I had been watching since opening day presented a shot opportunity at mid-day while crossing an open field. I knew the deer was close to 300 yards and this load drops almost 12" at that distance. I had a solid rest and held at the top of the deer. At the shot, the deer stumbled and turned and ran back to the fenceline from which he appeared. He stopped at 250 yards giving me a perfect broadside shot. He jumped the fence and only traveled a few yards. The first shot was at 305 yards and hit lower than I was anticipating and broke his right leg. The second shot hit center chest.
Gross scored 141 points and field dressed 185 lbs.
