6.5 300WSM questions

I'm looking to build a switch barrel gun. I am starting with 300WSM. Wanting to build a 6.5 caliber. Already have a 243 in the stable. Was looking for 6.5 for K.E. at distance and the better BC and wind bucking.
My question is...What is different between 6.5WSM, and 6.5 300WSM. Or is there no physical differences just word

In general there is no difference. You can use any of the WSM basic cases except the 7mm WSM because it has a shorter neck and longer body dimension, it uses it's own headspace gauge. I used the .270 WSM cases because they were available and relatively inexpensive.
