If I had a 223 reamer, is there a way to just open up the neck to 6mm without buying a whole new reamer in 6-223? And if there is, would it be more economical than a new reamer?

I had Bob Green build me a 6mm-222 using his 222 reamer in conjunction with his 6mm necker/throater. Excellent job by a top notch smith. If I had a 223 reamer, is there a way to just open up the neck to 6mm without buying a whole new reamer in 6-223? This was what I was thinking, but i guess you have to have a bit of skill to accomplish itI had Bob Green build me a 6mm-222 using his 222 reamer in conjunction with his 6mm necker/throater. Excellent job by a top notch smith.
You could get a neck and throating reamer combo. This will sound crude but it works if you have some experience. A chucking reamer to open up the neck and a 6MM throating reamer to cut the throat. It takes a lot of skill and finesse to get it all to come together.
^^^^^^^ I've had that idea run through my head for con$ervation of $$. Easy as it gets.
