A good friend has been hounding me to try the 55g Noslers in my new 6 BR. His load was 35.0g of AA2230 with a 7 1/2 primer at 3900+ fps shooting bug holes.
Well, I ordered a 100 and went to the range to load and try them. The accuracy load in my rifle was 34.0g at 3912 fps and I shot several groups in the 1's, moved to 300 yards and shot two 3/4' groups, and had 7' less drop than my load of 30.2g of Benchmark with the 70g Sierra Blitz King.
My buddy has a 1-14 twist, mine is a 1-12 twist, three groove lilja.
this load is so unique, works in two different rifles, thought that I would report it to the board for the varmint hunters.
For anyone that would want to try this load in their rifle, I would start off at 32.g of AA2230 and go up watching for pressure signs as powder charge increases.
I might add that my chamber has zero freebore, so if you are jumping the bullets, the pressure would go down.
Good luck!
