Thanks Jim, i appreciate that.. no the one that i am looking at is not a "S" model.. though i did find one for sale down in TX..NO The 580 Series (541) are a different breed although they do share the same trigger as the Remington 788-they however have a different safety --they will work BUT need stock work for clearance . If the rifle you have is indeed a 541 S it has a three screw adjustable trigger and can be adjusted to the Ounces
Good Luck
Jim
The one that i am picking up is a 541T but it looks like it is in a sporter stock.. it is a very nice looking rifle.. will let you know more after i get itI currently own Six 580 Series rifles and have done the "NRA" 788 conversion on all of them this will help you achieve your goal This is a very simple operation Some of the 541 T's had these adjustments some not
Good Luck
Jim
Well the whole reason that i ask is that i have an Eliseo stock.. and a Kenyon Rem trigger.. if i could use it i would..The Timney 788 trigger has to be fitted to the stock but it does have a safety on it. You may have to remove a bit from the bolt stop pin so the bolt can be removed.
It is indeed a what i now know as a 541-THBLooks as if it is a heavy barrel version. I have a light barrel version.
Yeah.. i have thought about that.. i have a friend that works for a scope company.. but it seems that they have reduced the kinds of "target" scopes that they produce and what they do have, they have increased the size of the dot! Go figure!T36 T24...
Some of those came with good chambers, some not so good. They are pinned in and easy to pull out and set-back. They are commonly glued back in instead of pinned.
Guy over on Remfire Central listed that does great work on them.
Send me a message when you're up to speed thereCongrats on your new toy! They are fine rifles indeed. I'm working on some more metal mags for these guns and will post them on the classifieds page as soon as I get them finished up.
