527 CZ shoots low

i have a 527 20VT with a 4200 B&L which has only 26 min. adjustment. it shoots 6" low at 100yd. 6"+13"= 19" the rings are 4" apart on center. as near as i can tell i need to lower the front ring .017"to .018" to get the scope centered. then much lapping of the rings. the little recoil lug is on the rear ring only so i don't want to shim the rear. please HELP before i screw something up. are there any formulas to determine the proper change in hight? thank you

You should call CZ, they are known to have a problem in this regard- the scope mounting surface is not parallel to the action / barrel.

You can probably do a Google search on it.

I was using a scope with more internal adjustment than yours and couldn't get my gun to group higher than 2" low at 100 yds.

I sent it back to CZ to be fixed and the problem is solved. When I called them initially, they were not even a little surprised, they just told me to send it back.

You might check into having a local gunsmith mill the top of the receiver parallel to the bore and install a standard base on it. My CZ527 has a defective left side groove that makes the rings not sit 100% flat. It can essentially go into two positions as I tighten it. I sent an email to CZ with detailed measurements and pictures and the only response I got back was "are you able to get it to zero". I like that rifle quite a bit but will never buy another CZ product.
