WANTED 5.6x57 Dies Brass Help!

I acquired a really nice 700 BDL chambered in a crazy 5.6x57 looks like it’s hard to find reloading components for! Before I rebarrel does anyone have any dies or brass laying around for this thing I’d actually like to shoot it? Any info on it is appreciated!
Thanks
Bradley

It’s an 8x57 Mauser necked down to .224”. Hornady might make some dies. Check a European hunting forum, it’s more popular there. RWS makes brass, but if you don’t want to spend that much, you can use any 57mm brass(257Rob, 6mm Rem, 7x57, 8x57). Only the 8x57 has the shoulder in the correct place, but necking down any of the others will create a false shoulder in the correct position. You should be able to do it by carefully sizing in a full length sizing die. Imperial Die wax has been my best bet for sizing down substantially or moving shoulders back a long distance. You may have to experiment with going half way first. Check neck clearance after necking down. The RWS is pretty thick, and the chambers were made for that, so you can likely neck down without need for turning, but you should double check.

A rebarrel would be the easiest. You might be able to set it back and rechamber to 22-250. I haven’t checked the geometry. Both have a lot of body taper. 22CM or 22-250AI would allow you to avoid issues of body taper if the regular 22-250 requires you to set it back too much. Again, a rebarrel might be a better bet.

If you do rebarrel, someone here might be interested in your barrel.
