4831sc bridging in measure

I am having trouble with H4831sc bridging in my RCBS Uniflow powder measure. It bridges in the drop tube. This is the only powder I have ever had this trouble with. Most of the time I use my Lyman electic powder thrower on my 6.5's. But was wanting to load some 6.5x55 blasting rounds with the RCBS.
THANKS
Bob

I agree that it could be a static issues. The Uniflow with steel parts and plastic hopper causes static on my bench. I ground my RCBS Chargemaster, and the Uniflow with 22 ga. copper wire anchored to a cold water pipe running overhead. Might give it a try.

You are throwing the charge and tapping the handle at the end of the stroke I am assuming, then I back the handle up slightly and tap the handle at the end of the stroke. If you dont do this it will bridge all the time.

I have used the RCBS, Hornady, and Lee PP with 4831sc and havent had that problem. Must be static. I'll have to say the Lee handles the stick powders much better than the others. As cheap as it is, pick one up and try it if the dryer sheet or grounding doesn't help.

I use powder measures with my progressive loader and use to have problems with bridging powder. When using a powder measure with a progressive loader the powder funnel moves up and down inside a collet die. I drill a hole in the measure above the powder funnel. I inssert a n aluminum or brass bead chain down the inside of the die below powder funnel. It moves up and down breaking any powder bridges.
I have made this modification to all my powder measures.

My Lee Perfect Powder measure seems to handle regular cut H4831 ok. Accuracy probably goes to +/- 0.2 grains, but it is still good enough for loading the scale tray, and trickling to top up.
