4” BR stock ?

I’m thinking about changing over to a 4” wide stock. I’m shooting a 3” MBR, 700, .284
The bolt lift is very smooth and I get very little movement from cycling the bolt but it does torque some when fired and I find I’m constantly readjusting horizontally.
Along with a new stock I’ll also have to change to a wider rest so this will also have to be added to the decision.
What do y’all think ? E

Rather than starting all over again with a 1" wider stock, new pillaring and bedding, sear fitting and a new front rest top, I would stay with what I've got.

Are you sure you need a new top? What is the max width it will take?

If all you want to do is try a 4" bolt a plate to your existing stock. If your running a standard rest Edgewood makes a 4" bag that fits a standard top. So for an 80 dollar bag and a little labor making the plate you will know. @AlloyTargets makes some add on rails to convert a 3" to a 4" stock as well. That may be all you need.

I saw those rails the other day and it got me thinking, I’ll call edgewood tomorrow and ask about the bag. My rest is a Shade Tree. Thanks fellas. E

I just ordered one of Alex’s 4” bags from them on Wed. $73 + shipping. 4-5 week lead time. Maybe they can work yours in with mine. I’m going to put it on a Shadetree as well. I’ve already switched my Sinclair.
