3rd Deer with handgun

Just harvested my 3rd deer with my savage 308 bolt action handgun. I bought it to extend my deer season into Alternative weapons season here in Missouri that allows handguns. This gun is amazingly accurate if I manage my shakes and trigger pull. I shoot Varget with 125gr Nosler BT bullets and have killed deer at 200 yds with no problem. I would not hesitate to take a Deer at 300 yds, which is my self inposed limit with it. BTW this was my 5th deer this year, 1=crossbow, 2 = Nesika 7mm rem mag, 2=Savage Handgun.

Well done! Strikers are great hunting handgun with a trigger job. My farthest buck (6br) was at 300 yds.
Lived in a "shotgun only" area for deer hunting for a long time, handguns you could use any centerfire.....easy choice.

With a bipod and a good rest they will hang with most any rifle.
