Hoz,

Well if this ain't a case of simple honest intentions gone haywire I don't know if I ever saw one! I did not mean to derail your post. And certainly didn't mean to upset oldguy. But at this point I am thinking some folks just are having a bad day. I am not going to chase after it.

Thank you, however, for pointing out that there are a lot of members, and this is a great forum. I hope all contribute...whether it be posts, answers, questions, good intentions or money. I plan to continue, and hopefully Old will feel better about things tomorrow.
Im glad you posted the above posts and did not mean to indicate otherwise. Like they say
"you cant make everyone happy". You didnt upset Oldguy he choose his path so not to worry. Thanks for your support of the site.

My 2¢
From my perspective, unless one's main purpose is to use the site to sell and is not a sponsor, to donate or not donate isn't a big deal. There are many on here that contribute in other ways. They may not still be in the game or have other financial priorities but still post helpful information based on their experience, knowledge and wisdom. One doesn't know for sure if the guy posting is stuck at home sitting in a wheelchair, confined to a "rest" home, saddled with medical bills or otherwise incapable of shooting but with years of knowledge and one who is willing to share it here.
Also there are a lot of new people entering the precision shooting game. They may have started out with a factory rifle but are now moving up to custom equipment and reloading. Hopefully those that are on that road and see the benefits of this site and the forums will decide to donate. Until then, I'll withhold judgment on the non contributors.

I agree -- I donate or dont based on what i think i should do-- i dont concern myself with what others should do (donations). I think the knowledge donations are most valuable

I really don't understand why he felt the way he did..... It wasn't anyone's intention to make him leave.

you put much effort in trying to explain things to him and it didnt matter because oldguy just wanted to argue not listen to reason. Ive seen his posts before-- he's almost like a troll--if he left the site its his loss- you tried so dont feel bad

All donations are very welcome. But the processing fees from PayPal will take $0.43 from a $1.00 donation. An annual $20.00 Silver membership works out to $1.67 per month. We think that's quite affordable.

Consider this -- If a person were to sell a $2500.00 rifle on Gunbroker, they could pay close to $50 in transaction fees for that single sale alone (flat fee plus % of sale price).

We very much appreciate those members who donate. Membership support is becoming increasingly important as it is more difficult to sustain the site on advertising revenues alone. There are many reasons for that -- one is the consolidation of ad services with large entities, such as Google, that are gun-adverse.

Well actually 39 or about 40,000 members on accurate shooter. Kudos to the Boss man and Admins who have built this site into wat it is. I was wondering of the 39K how many people actually post in the forums very often. Its got to be a small percentage. Imagine if just 10% (3900) posted once a day. That would take me an hour to read:D-- im sure more people post in a day than i think. The more the better IMO
You can read 3900 post in one hour? 65 post a minute. I must have read this wrong? I'M not doubting you just amazed.

thanks boss for the info--i think its important to let people know how things are going

No harm intended but sometimes an outside look will reveal a lot. Why not have a banner that just says contributor? I for one was reluctant to contribute for a long time due to the childish comments and shame game subtle digs. I would be much more inclined to donate more if the amount wasn't posted.
