38 Super Auto from 9X23 Win

Years ago I purchased a Briley ramped barrel and bushing for a planed project. I got started shooting prairie dogs and the project was forgotten. Recently I decided to put the 38 Super together for my youngest grandson. All went pretty well until test firing, wouldn’t feed anything. Pulled the barrel and dropped factory (UMC) ammo in and it didn’t chamber fully some would most wouldn’t. Measured chamber at case mouth was .3823” and .3914” .200” from the breech! 38 Super Auto is supposed to be .3872” at case mouth-.000”, +.004”.
Looking at the markings on the barrel they were stamped 9X23 Auto. That rang a bell, off to the SAAMI specs, how about 9X23 Winchester? A tapered case with my measurements.
Now my question, can i have a standard 38 Super reamer clean out the chamber, I have several Supers and would not want to have load separately for my grandson.
I’ve checked the dimensions an if careful not to go too deep might end up with only a couple thousands taper.
As the barrel is fitted and locks up tight would like to save it if possible. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Shoot the 9x23. I have both it and the 38 super. Love the 9x23 better. If you have to have the 38 have it rebarreled. Good luck either way.

Did all my measurements again and “ciphered” all the dimensions for the 38 Super SAAMI chamber and all will be in tolerance, just. Only question is the rim, but I’ve read that current Supers headspace on the rim Just like the 9X23 Win.
Brownell had a 38 Super finishing reamer in stock, $90 delivered. Cheaper than a new barrel and having to fit it!
Will try and report yea or nay.
Really didn’t want another caliber on my 1050.

4d reamer rental is about $45 if you only need it once
