375 RUM, Pet Loads

Anyone have 375 RUM pet loads with 270 and 300 grain bullets to share??

Data is pretty scarce and what you find has lots of variations in charge weights, velocities, etc.
Thx

I doubt many have experimented more than a few rounds with a monster such as that. It may be why theres not much data out there. If it was me id get the accuracy load from sierra’s manual or a middle of the road load from barnes whatever bullet you use and go with it.

Data is scarce because of the lack of popularity of this cartridge. Powder and bullet manufacturers are not going to invest in test barrels, components and time to develop loads for a cartridge which is not performing in the commercial market. Few sales, little support.:(

Variations in charge weights and velocities is normal since none of the powders or bullets match each other exactly. That's why we have such a great selection of both powders and bullets, the different performance factors. But it is also one of the reasons there is little data except from a couple of the majors like Nosler and Hodgden. Both have data which is usable although Nosler is for a slightly lighter bullet. Both are for hunting applications. You can start with the lower suggestions and work your way up as we all do in order to develop a load which safe in your rifle.

With great hesitancy, I would suggest using another forum which has more emphasis on hunting than is usually found here, especially for the larger cartridges.

While I prefer the nostalgia of hunting with the .375 H&H, I have used the .375 RUM on a few occasions. The 270 gr. Nosler Partition or Swift A-Frame are excellent for game unless you specify Grizzly bear.:eek: I've only shot the Swift A-Frame in the 300 grain weight class.

Enjoy the process!:D
