.375 CheyTac Shooters...

I bought a jgs reamer in late December, they stocked a .375 cheytac. It's got a .100" fb, .4100 neck diameter. It works perfect with the Peterson brass. I bought a set of whidden dies they stock. I had to make a bushing .403". I can seat the cutting edge 400 Lazer and 377 mtac with the sealing band out of the case. I'd think .080 fb would be fine.

Thank you I'm calling them tomorrow.

Marc, The Free-bore figures I stated in my previous post are just "eye-ball estimates & from memory" when I was taking measurements on the bullet seating depth. As the other gent has posted 0.100 this should be a good measurement. - After all, the size of bullets we are talking about it is insignificant unless we are dealing with the 350 gr. SMK or the Rocky Mountain 350 or 370 gr. - For the Cutting Edge bullets all the free-bore that is necessary is to get the Seal-Tight band just out of the mouth of the case. (As they are bore-riders).

Has Cheytac changed there 350 gr bullet. I got a new batch in and they will not chamber in my rifle now. So I have some 377 gr Cutting Edge. Any suggestions on the amt. of Retumbo. I checked for bullet seating and I have a lot of free bore. The seal-tight band is well out in front of the case mouth.
??????????????????

Cheytac changed hands and moved from Georgia to South Carolina. Bolt will not close on my new shipment of bullets with old or new brass.

Thanks for any info on the seating or amount of Retumbo to use.

My forming loads with the 377 is 130gr of retumbo. I’d assume that’ll be close to the top for a straight cheytac. This load is holding around 1/2 moa seating .010” into the lands. That leaves the sealing band above the case neck for me. You don’t want that band in the neck

Not sure how many of you there are on these boards, and my apologies if this is not the correct section.

I am about to begin load work up on my CheyTac and was hoping to get some baseline data using the same or similar components:

Peterson Brass
Retumbo
Cutting Edge 352gr MTACs
Federal 215M

I was able to find some data and have a rough idea of where to start based on 350gr SMK load info, but I know solids can be a different story.

Looking for any experience or advice.

Thanks!
Hey I know this post is 4 years old but now I wondwering about the same thing you wereon Cutting Edge 352 gr solids.Whats you lolad and speeds. What did you finish at with a node? Thanks

Got a load that works sub moa in both artillery pieces with the 400 CEL's over RL50 @137gr runs 2990fps, both also shoot the 352's factory round from Dessert Tech , which I read somewhere is supposed to be retumbo - never pulled one apart so dont know - both barrels cuts with same reamer and freebore by Alamo Precision2023-01-04_15-02-29.jpgIMG_2814.jpg
