.375 Cheytac Reloading

For my sins, I now have a .375 Cheytac.

What dies are people using? And has anyone successfully sized these cases on a Forster press?

I did some calcs. To seat a 300 grain bullet I figured I would need a little over 5 inches of clearance. The clearance on my Bonanza (precursor to the CoAx) is just over 4 inches. The dies I have been looking at do not fit a 7/8 opening. They require a 1 1/8 opening. I have a Lee press with a 1 1/8 in opening with a 7/8 bushing. However, it does not have the 5 inches of clearance I need either.

People are having dies made from the same reamer that the smith uses to cut their chamber. To do this you start with a die blank. Behold:

A Forster press is too small. Most Cheytec dies are 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 inch diameter.

I use a RCBS ammo master to load the big boys like the 50 cal.bmg, So that press can handle the .375

Lee makes a cast 50 press but im thinking my buddy that shoots a cheytac uses a redding ultramag

I use the Hornady 50 BMG Press for my 50 loading, and it will easily handle the 375 CT. The Hornady and RCBS presses are identical except for color and badging. They use an 1.5" x 12 dies, but the press also comes with the 7/8" x 14 adapter for the smaller caliber dies.

The one thing I love about my Hornady is that it utilizes the Lock-N-Load Bushing which I truly like.

+1 for Hornady Lock-n-Load bushing. I have one on my Lee Classic Cast press. It makes changing dies a snap.

The Lee looks promising, not least because it fits their stand. But what shellholder would one use? I don't find one of the right size on their site.

If you want a Lee shellholder, not that there is any special reason to use one with the Lee press.
You would be looking for Lee Shellholder NR 25.

You could also use RCBS,Hornady,Redding (both normal and comp.) nothing in the way of that. Some have cutouts for a eventual protruding primer or simply ease of access, some are tighter then others, some tends to be better finished etc.

And there is also plenty of presses out there that can be used for the 338 L.
Just make sure you have enough clearances for the round in the press without it becoming uncomfortable reloading.
And decide on the thread size of the dies or buy one of the ones with threaded inserts for standard dies as they leace a lot of options. Just be aware not all are 1 1/2 -12 some are 1 1/4 -12 too so know what you want before you buy.

The lee 25 is for the lapua case not the cheytac. The lapua mag uses the 416 rigby as its parent case. Way different
