.338 snipetac.... PISTOL!!

Ive had some experience with bubinga. I know that some dangerous game rifles are stocked with it, but I had real issues with it getting damp and going crazy. Be careful. We paneled a conference room in a big bank in Palm Beach. I used some scraps for a pad to mount the trolling motor on my boat, screwed it to a thick piece of aluminum and it warped so bad the first night it sheared the screws into. Its hard too!

I got some video of the first shot I fired from the gun yesterday. The blast is pretty intense to say the least!

I didn't have a good front rest that's wide enough for the stock so I had to improvise and make one; it worked pretty well though. These are the first 4 shots fired at 100 yards after a rough bore sighting. The high shot is #1 and 2, 3 and 4 went into one elongated hole. I think it's going to shoot just fine!

That's a shooter!!!!!!!!!

I like the straight back recoil, with no muzzle flip.
now run it at long range, 300+ yds.

The more you shoot it, the better it will feel,
and you'll get use to the blast.

You need to come to the WY shot next yr,
so you can run with the Big Dogs.

PD at 1000 yds would be an easy shot. :D

Thanks,
Don

Ernie,

I did not want to scare him off,
before he got his feet wet,
1000 yd PD should be a easy with that rig !!!!!!!!! ;)

This brake is a little different than the Benchmark/Muscle Brakes I usually run on the pistols. The Muscle Brake on my 338/375 Ruger Striker doesn't reduce the recoil as much the T5 brake does, but it doesn't give the shooter the slap in the face either. This definitely isn't a gun I'd shoot prone in the dirt!

I'm hoping to get out to 300, 600 and 1000 yards on the next trip out. I still need to figure out how to get some velocity readings though. Since the Magneto Speed isn't long enough to work with this brake I'll need to come up with another chrony. This may be the excuse I need to get a Labradar I guess.

Come to Gillette and you can borrow mine, as long as I can put a few rounds downrange with your rig :)

Why can't you get 100 zero, POA & POI dead on,
then shoot at 200-300 to see the drop, without changing POA,
then use a good ballistic's calculator to see the difference,
of inch's drop, between each yardage,
that should get you real close to you fps you are running
until you get behind a chrono, to find out for sure.

I may end up doing that until I can get my hands on another chrony. I had pretty good luck "reverse engineering" velocities before after one of my chrony's took a 400gr bullet to center mass while trying to get velocities at 100 yards with an iron sighted 480 Ruger halfway through a range session.:)

I've got a buddy who's been wanting to buy my Magneto so I may just suck it up and buy the labradar. It would be nice to shoot groups with a chrony and not have to worry about if the flyer was my fault or because of the Magneto strapped to the barrel.
