I have Lapua and Norma brass in 338 LM and have no problems with either and currently at 4 reloadings (though I must add I am not hot-rodding it)In my experience, Hornady is the most inconsistant brass there is. I tried 20 pieces as an experiment. After a single firing, my measurements were all over the place. Neck tensions were very inconsistant too. Accuracy suffered. The thickness showed differing levels in the case of the same powder throws. Even annealling didn't solve the neck tension issues I was having.
My conclusion was to stick with the Lapua brass. I didn't even have the courtesy to leave the Hornady brass at the range for someone else. I threw it in the garbage.
YMMV, but for me, the choice was easy and obvious.
Let me know. I'll probably take it. Thanks, JohnI used Lapua and RWS in my .338. I liked the RWS as much as Lapua. However, I sold my .338 when I only had 1-2 firings on my brass. Still have the brass. Guess I need to post it up for sale.
Got it. ThanksJohn, I sent you a PM
