I have been shooting remington 300 brass, cci mag primers and 90 grains h1000 with 300 sierra's and bergers. I don't have alot of rounds through it, but I like what I see. cliffe

The 338/300 Ultra is an easy round to load for, no trying 100's of combo's looking for the Holy Grail......

Grab some Remington brass, neck 'em up to 338, prime with Federal 215's, and fill 'em up with H-1000 till you hit 2800-2825 with your 300 grain of choice, and have some fun.

I have a 338 edge 30inch lawton barrel my load work is for 300 smk I hawe tried H 1000 and vv 170 and 570
vv 170 90 gr gave best groups 570 best speed ca 100 fps + I found out best guidlie is to use load data for
338 lapua if I exceed that primers are loos after 2
loads

As I was told, RETUMBO will be your best friend.

I tried this powder with Berger, SMK's, and Secenar 300's.

In my gun, 92.5 grains of Retumbo, .030 to .050 off the lands with the Secenar will shot .250 groups when I do my part @ 300 yds. I can send a picture of my target.

Shawn Carlock uses Retumbo as well sometimes.

All I can say it works for me and several others.

Had one set for 250smk. Liked 101gr of Retumbo with Fed215. Run around 3150with fps. with a 28" krieger.

Mine likes 91grs of H-1000 and a 300gr SMK with CCI mag primers. 2800fps and 100yd groups in the .2's.

I am going to try mine at 600yds very soon. Didn't have any reason to try anything beyond 300yds, but this looks like it may change. Not worried about the gun, just going to check the actual drop.

Mine is a 28in 1-10 Mcgowen barrel it has around 30 rounds through it so far, it like 93.0gr of H1000 with a CCI250 and 300gr Berger OTM seated .010 off. My ES was 6 for three shot group 2803, 2803, 2809. I have some testing to do with seating depth still but so far it looks good all groups fired from 89gr-94.0gr H1000 were all less than .75" at 100 yards so it pretty much liked H1000 and CCI250's. I will try seating depth .005 increments untill i hit the sweet spot. I am still breaking the barrel in, first 10 shots cleaned after every shot and then cleaned after every three shots. after about the 15th shot it almost stopped fouling no copper. I am pretty impressed with the Mcgowen barrel for how little I paid for it.
