338 Edge or 338 Norma?

I am looking to build one or the other. 338 Edge or 338 Norma. If it was you which would you build for accuracy at extended ranges? And why? I plan on using Berger 300gr bullets. And what kind of velocity should I expect?

thx for all input.

i would go with the edge. components would be cheaper. i believe you would get better ballistics with the edge also. you picked the right bullet too!

When built with quality components, the accuracy differences should be a wash.

I went with the 338/300 Ultra, due to the brass price and wanting the .532 bolt face for more possible caliber options in the future.

Mine's built with Bat, Rock, McMillan, and Nightforce. I settled on the 300 Sierras over the Bergers. While the Berger has a better BC, the Sierra consistently shot a bit smaller while shooting out to 1425 yards. Velocity is 2830 in a 29" tube.

Joe, if I was going to build another big caliber it would be an Edge. All this on just the things I've read and heard. I've had 3 .300 Ultra's and liked them all, it's a good parent case.
I've got a .300 Lapua in a Shahane Tracker that Gre-Tan built ready to rock and roll with only 350 rounds down it, with all the goodies. Hint, hint. Let's get together and go shoot Blakely 1000 yard F-class March 3rd. Shoot me a PM.
