Good advice. Most people don't think to jump any great distance. It pays off to give it a shot.Do not be afraid to jump them a ways if they dont shoot close to the lands.

In my 338 Ultra Mag Im using Barnes 225gr TTSX at 3250 fps and thru a 30 inch Broughton tube it will shoot under 2 inches at 500yds. Im using 92gr H4832 SC with Fed Mag primers. I like fast and flat.

H4831SC maybe?...or is there a new powder out? Wouldn't surprise me a bit if it was new!!
Have you checked out Badlands Precision? They make a 260 PICBM with a BC .841 G1. I'm running the 240 Bulldozers from Badlands in my 338SS @ 2900 with 64gr RL17. Realy like the performance of a mono bullet.Target
Thanks!
Do you happen to remember who made the 250's and the load?Target or killing? I think if you run the numbers on a 300 vs 250 out to 1k, the 250 will beat it, I also think its a little better killer. The 250 has an extremely short bearing surface and you can run it faster than youd think. Past 1k or so, 300s are the way to go. One of the more impressive groups I have seen from a 338 was a 10 shot group with 250s, it was 5-6" at 1k.
Definitely interested in the 250s in a 338 edge. I'm currently building another 338 edge with a carbon fiber stock and proof research barrel 26" Long and the only thing I want to shoot out of it is the 250s bergers as fast as I can. I have shot the 250 out of my other edge and I was getting around 3,200 fps but this was with a 30 inch barrel could have pushed them faster but didn't. I believe I'll be able to push the 250 out of the 26 inch barrel at 3100 or 3200 fps and that's exactly what I'm looking for out of the 250 Berger's.
H1000What powder?
