338 bullet options for long range

Just curious what bullets you guys are using for target/long range applications in the 338 caliber.

I have a 338 Edge and am currently using 300 OTM hybrids.

I'm pushing the 300grn Berger otm in mine. But I do have a couple boxes of cutting edge 277grn. But I haven't messed with them much. I've also shot quite a few of the hornady 285grn hpbt and I have a few boxes of the 285grn amax sitting around too.

I only ask because I thought about trying a different lighter bullet for more speed.

I am actually running a light load in mine and will probably end up going a couple grains in powder (H1000). Im hoping to e tit to 2825-2850 in a 30" barrel with 300gr OTMs.

Keep the bullet, ditch the H1000, go to RL33. I was sending powder to Tenn. to my friend who couldn't get any during the crunch. Couldn't find Retumbo so I sent RL33. He said the RL33 was better than any of the powders he had used in his 338 and he has tried them all.

I agree. It shot way more velocity and better accuracy in all the 338's we put it in. Matt

300 grn Scenars, picture speaks for itself.

Hard to believe a few tenths of powder makes a difference.
