338-06 improved. Looking for a reamer design

I never found the reamer print. I don't know how much you got to shoot that other rifle. You will love the cartridge hits hard and surprisingly flat shooting with the right bullet
I got to shoot it a few times, my cousin actually had two, the custom Remington and a custom built an old Husqvarna. The Remington had optics and the Husky had a peep. We would go down into a dry lake bed nearby and bust rocks with 200 grain BT and 210 Partitions. We had a lot of fun with those rifles. He had shot quite a few deer with the Husky. I did the game processing, always have, and would see the damage. Impressive to say the least. The last buck he shot with it was a big muley that field dressed 215 pounds. The bullet center punched him through both shoulder blades and the buck feel where he stood. When he walked him to him the grass he was chewing was still in his mouth.

I have a 338-06 AI reamer and have chambered two barrels with it.
I lengthened the throat .055 with a separate throating reamer so the base of 230 grain ELD-X is at the neck/shoulder junction. It still chambers easily in my gun and gives a bit more flexibility with longer bullets.
My first barrel did not have this and I found to be a bit restrictive with longer bullets so I’m looking forward to developing loads with this one when I can. The rifle should be up and running in the next month or so I hope.

In my first barrel I found good accuracy and velocity with several powders but RL16 was the best for 200-210 class bullets and I was also getting good results with H4350 using 225-230 grain bullets

Nice looking rifle! The description of a black and orange stock sounded horrible, but the pictures look cool. When you mentioned actions one was Anti X. Whet is an Anti X?

One note on McMillan colors. The first color on an order is the dominate color. So a stock ordered as 50/50 black and orange will be darker than a 50/50 orange and black mix.

Here's a black and orange:

Good detail to know!

Your taste in rifles matches mine - very nice looking.

I have no experience with the AI, but I’ve always been a fan of the caliber.

This is not what you’re looking for in any way, heck, it might not hit the broad side of a barn. I’ve gone back and forth, learned a lot about the Gibbs cartridges, but decided against tracking down an action to screw it onto and turning a #3 taper. I don’t know anything else about it.
