33-47 Arrived

Very nice looking rifle. What do the cartridges look like? Sharp ackley shoulder or more relaxed ? Also are you shooting cast bullets or jacketed?

I headed out at lunch today with a few bullets to get some initial load data.
I used H4227 and started at 14.5g and went up to about 16g.i was only getting about 1.5" at 100 yards.i had 5 of the 249g bullets left so I bumped it another grain and my last 5 bullets did this.it was either lucky or that long bullet just needed more powder.next session will tell the tale...

All bullets breech seated about 1/32 foreword of case

Very good work! What is the twist rate? I have a Hepburn chambered in 32-40 Win that will get it’s maiden voyage very soon.

I took out the same load this evening.i shot a warmup group them these three 5 shot groups at 100 yards.i got one really nice and two so-so.
The general load seems ok.now it's
time to put on the 20x unertl and play with breech seating depths powder charges and primer types.

Looks reasonable to start with, haven`t seen anyone shooting the 33 in a long time.
There was a few guys a number of years ago with quite success in the ASSRA. Nowadays people are doing so well with 25 calibers and 32 calibers it's probably not worth the extra lead and recoil to shoot a 33. But I always wanted one.

I've been shooting a 33-47 in schuetzen since 1990 and it has won me a lot of prizes at the Coors Schuetzenfest both in Golden, Co. and Raton, NM.
Here are a few of my targets.

Thanks for the load data with H110 I have quite a bit of it. I have a Douglas barrel from my CPA that is a bit tight at .3345. It has just A 32 40 chamber in it .I modified a .32 bullet mold With A.336 baseband and also opened up the front bands to 327. and I'm trying to see if I can get it to shoot before I decide what I'm going to do with it.

Really appreciate you chiming in with all of your experience with the 3347.
