No, it wouldn't. In fact, the 125 SST may be marginal. Plugging in the bullet length, twist and MV into Ballistic AE, it gives me Miller Stability of .98. Way low, but I don't know how the plastic tip affects that number. I'll test it more & decide. I may end up shooting BIB 118s.
I did shoot 5 more 125gr SSTs with 34.0gr H4198 over the MagnetoSpeed today. Discarding the 1st shot (clean bore) it averaged 2,856 FPS with an 8.6 SD. I'm impressed with the speed in such a short barrel (16.1").
For FB HP bullets, and polymer (0r other material) tipped bullets, the Miller calculator is nowhere close.
Left-hand menu, open calculations; about 1/2 way down page, under Ballistic Coefficient Calculation and Conversion; open DRAG/TWIST - that calculator is, "money in the bank" . . . for everything! AND, the results correlate nicely with the Tioga Engineering Bullet Design, and if still there, a free down-loadable program on Dan Lilja's web-page: < riflebarrels.com >.
