30br bolt face

don't know a thing about building a rifle. can anyone tell me if a .308 bolt face will accomodate the br base. want to build a 30 br with this action.

If you don't know anything about building a rifle, get a good gunsmith and follow his suggestions! I'm sure that he knows more about what makes a good, accurate rifle that you do!

I also suggest talking to a good gunsmith. Having something in mind before you call will make your time with the smith so much better. You can find a lot of information by reading past posts, on the main page there are links on the left side and getting a good reloading manual. All of the ones I have seen have drawings of casings. You can compair each casing and see how they stack up for the most part.

Not being familar with the .30 BR cartridge, will the OP have trouble with feeding the .30 BR from the magazine that the 6mm BR has?

I have a 30br on a Remington 700 and yes the .308 bolt face will work fine you will need to do a mag job to get it to feed, find the info on 30br page, i did my mag job myself and was easy just cut down feed ramp and I cut a Peace off aluminum to size then glued in to back off mag box. the rifle is used with 130g Barns x and makes a very good deer round.
