30BR barrel suggestions?

I have in mind to build a walking around rifle in 30br. I have a R700 single shot action. Would be using 115-135 grain bullets. The question is, what barrel profile? I have been told I don't need over a 22 inch barrel. What profile would give me .700-.750" at the muzzle? Would I stick to the 17 twist, or go to a faster twist?

The sendero taper is close to that but with a walk-around-rifle you may want a little lighter taper. I think you are correct with length and the 1 - 17 twist will work for you as I'm shooting the 125 gr. and stabilizing great with mine. My barrel is 24 inch Lilja and is a bench rifle as well built by ODCR (WSMNUT) here on the site.

I have a 17 twist Lilja #5, I think. At 16.1” it’s awesome. I walk around with it, suppressed. You don’t lose that much velocity going shorter with the 30BR. I can get 2,900 with a BIB 118 & 2,850 with a 125 TNT. I wouldn’t want it any longer.

Two of my best friends did their hunting this year with 30 BR’s using the 110 grn Barnes TSX out of1-17 twist barrels at 3000 FPS. Both bagged nice White Tails. The recovered bullets opened to about 5/8 inch.
This is East Texas hunting we’re most shots are between 100 and 200 yards.
As for barrel length, 22 inches is about perfect. If you get a Remington Varmint Taper, you will have a good weight profile at 22 inches.
