30BR accuracy expectations

One of the members here who has passed away Octopus used to wet his targets and sprinkle sugar on top and let them dry. I was at a loss to figure it out till we went to the range and flies would land on the target. He would call the game we were playing for a fly break, he seldom missed. The first one he shot while i was there I called BS and we went cold and there were legs and guts from the fly around the hole. I think if yours shoots as good as his it will minute of fly.
Nothing like a good fly shot!
Rimfire, but same effect if you
center punch them.

We used to shoot a bunch of them in Visalia, it was next door to a dairy farm!

Quite a lad was ole Jon :)

I miss going to the place in the Hammock and shooting all day. Before he passed he asked me to remove some heavy items from the garage so his wife wouldn't have to worry with them. He had a Clausing lathe that the previous owner had misplaced the gears and it was worthless, but i found a friend that was a tool and die maker and swapped it for a nice 4 jaw for my lathe. About a week later he had me take out his big milling machine. A friend came with a boom truck and brought it to my shop, every time I walk by it, I think I wish he had it back and we could shoot aspirins again. Capt. Bob got me a Hall actioned rifle in 6PPC and Bob gave me the load recipe and after a few trips to learn to shoot it I shoot a .087 5 shot group out at the range in the Hamock. We had a big party before he passed and he had a big blow up of the group on the wall with a bunch of pictures of us shooting. Him and Capt Bob taught me enough that I could shoot that group.

Is Capn Bob still living? I may have told you, Jon called me the day before he passed. I was driving but we talked a few minutes. He was interested to know what and how I was doing.

I haven't talked with Bob in years, I had a friend that bought a new gun and ran it through his FFL was the last time I saw him. Its such a long drive out there i could not get him or any other friends to use him.
