I have 400 Berger 155.5 fullbore match bullets if you want to try them.

Mike, those might work. The reamer I used on this Rifle has a .095 throat. This puts the boat tail shank junction of the Speer 168 just a tad past 1/2 way in the neck When just touching the lands. I suspect with the tangent ogive 155.5, it will be in about the same spot.

Although recoil is a little stiff a good .308 that is built right will definitely shoot you some tight groups. I don't think I want to be without mine. This is my last group with 175 gr. Sierras & 43.5 gr. of Varget.

Not knowing the leade angle on the reamer...I'm not sure.

They are a tangent 8 ogive, .3083 shank, .3088 pressure ring and the base-to-ogive is .585. They are what I use as the 'standard' when testing a .30 cal. hunting rig. This is a 3 shot group with them in this sporter .30 WSM-based case I call the '300 WMM' (Whitetail Whack Master). The owner uses it for hunting in an elevated stand across his large section with a big wetland area in the middle.

I really like the berger 185 in a 308, this is .3 grain increments of varget, very forgiving.

Shot this while zeroing a scope at 100 with Varget and Berger 185's. The low one was the first shot then I clicked the scope up. I miss that barrel.

The .095 long freebore section just before the lands is smaller than the bullet. I can mic that area on the reamer and it measures .3078.

Well, that sux! Do you plan to run a throater in? If you have a .3085 throater with the same angle in, you should be able to run in to touch the lands without lengthening by more than a few thou. WH

I am hoping a throat er will do the trick. A friend has one with the same lead angle that I can borrow.
