I just got the ultradyne apollo max on my 308. I like it, does good job on recoil and muzzle flip and doesnt seem to be that loud and no concussion waves back that i noticed

Hard to beat a harrells brake...

The self timing brakes mentioned work fine but they look like a bag of butt holes on the end of a nice rifle. The harrels or Schuler brake properly timed and turned to match the contour looks way better and work just as well if not better than anything mentioned.

Precision Armament M 4-72 reduces recoil very well, even on the 300 RUM, makes it comfortable to shoot...I use it on most of my 308's too...but it does push a significant amount of muzzle blast back to the shooter. On the light recoiling 6 Dasher I use the Area 419 match master...but probably not worth the extra cost for most, but has some nice features.
