308 brass for prs

i started shooting 308 in prs at the end of last season and wasnt sure how much i would like it so i bought srp starline brass. im on my 5th firing with it now and i anneal every firing with induction annealer. i bump shoulder .002 thou and run 3 thou neck tension. my question is will i really notice any difference going to a better quality brass. and is either peterson, alpha or lapua really better then the other. thanks in advance

I'm no PRS shooter but I'm also not a BR shooter. I wouldn't think that the difference between Starline and Lapua would make enough difference to matter on PRS. Given the price difference and greater likely hood of losing brass I'd use Starline. Money no object I'd go for Lapua.

I would be happy to stay with Starline if they aren't hurting your results. If you elect to change brass you are tossing away a year worth of experience and starting from scratch. My opinion is to shoot the Starline this year and enjoy the competition and try experimenting with another line of brass. Compare them on range visits, same rifle, same conditions. If you're able to get better results make the switch. There may also be additional costs if you have a custom or bushing die. You will definitely need a new decapping pin if you go to Lapua.
I run LC in a gas gun and Lapua in the bolt gun. The only common die is the universal decapper, which I unknowingly got one with an 0.060 pin (good for Lapua). Trying something that works on the LC brass does not always yield the same results in the Lapua.

Any evidence that your ammunition is the weakest link? If the rest of your game is really strong you might benefit from better brass. Read might several times. Be honest with what is holding you back from the top of the podium.

I have used Starline, Peterson and Lapua .308 SRP brass in sling shooting. Weak link was always the nut behind the trigger. Minor adjustments in powder charge due to case capacity ( more so with Peterson) but all shot well and held up to multiple firings.

no it seems to do well nd i have won several in the tac division and top 3 in several others. i have no issues with the starline i was just curious if the other stuff would actually benefit anything. i know my misses are me and not my ammo.
