308 prs

i started shooting 308 in prs at the end of last season and wasnt sure how much i would like it so i bought srp starline brass. im on my 5th firing with it now and i anneal every firing with induction annealer. i bump shoulder .002 thou and run 3 thou neck tension. my question is will i really notice any difference going to a better quality brass. and is either peterson, alpha or lapua really better then the other. thanks in advance

NO ! You won't see any difference from other "quality" Brass as compared to the Starline . I've shot Lapua SRP in F-TR for nine years now , and just started using the Starline SRP on suggestion from a National Champion . I'll be shooting the Starline in the SWN in a few weeks , and have no qualms about doing so either . I even get to shoot the identical load I was shooting in the Lapua .
The only question I have about the Starline Brass is ; Will it take as many reloads as the Lapua , since I'm going on over forty reloads on the Lapua cases , and starting to lose primer pockets .
I anneal after every firing , and "Bump" only .001 , and set interference fit at .307 for a .308 Berger 200 Hybrid !

ya thats kinda what i figured, ive been pretty happy with the starline im on my 5th and everything is still good. i understand might not last as long but at half the price per 100 i wouldnt expect it too.

Sorry, I'll disagree. I found Starline brass to be wildly inconsistent in quality. I used it in a .243 Win trying to build a lightweight coyote rifle. I weighed brass trying to find consistency in case volume and I just finally gave up. I also shot their cases in a 5.56; an ammo manufacturers spec'd their cases and Nosler bullets. Again, wildly inconsistent.

Right now, I'm shooting Peterson cases for 6mm Creedmoor for PRS. I had used Hornady brass, but like the Starline brass too inconsistent. Also too much work to make it begin to approach the consistency of Lapua, Alpha and Peterson. Mass produced brass uses pierced primer holes requiring a reamer to make them consistent, a primer pocket reamer to make them all the same size, and so on. The Peterson brass comes out of the box ready to shoot!
