308 Bisley Reamers

PT&G list the following 308 Reamers:

308 Obermeyer Match GR
308 Palma
308 Palma 1995
308 Palma Bisley,Bisley Rule 150)
308 Winchester

There are differences in the web, throat, lead, etc.

I recomend you look at the drawings.

peter,

if you are going to shoot bisley, be careful which reamer you use! your gun MUST pass the bisley 150 rule [done on site] it's a GO-NO GO sitution.

the ptg 308 palma bisley will pass as will the 308 habu and canadian rg.

the remainder on the list above won't. particularly the palma 95 which is about the smallest on the list but used by a great deal of folks in US.

I will have to agree with Ron.. the most popular palma chamber in the US is the 95 palma chamber! Works perfect with Lapua brass, Max load 47.0 grains of Varget or less depending on the lot of Varget you have.

Thanks for the information on the bisley reamer. I am in the process of building another f-class std rifle and needed a chamber that will handle the smk 155 and our local Australian 155 BJD projectile

The Bisley reamer from PTG is the reamer made to pass the Bisley 150 rule. The neck is slightly larger in diameter than the '95 Palma and the throat is longer. As a comparison, I seat 155 SMKs at 2.785 in the '95 Palma and at 2.815 in the Bisley 150 PTG reamer. This gives a .020 jump in both. I no longer use the '95 Palma reamer because I see no accuracy difference in the 2 and I know the Bisley will pass the inspection in International matches.
